Behind the Experience

“I am fascinated by the way our kinetic energy is affected by our environment and how we live in the world.”

Who I Am.

I have always been a passionately creative, scientific and nurturing person. My path first began in 2000, where I attended the Harrington Institute and graduated with a degree in Interior Design. I was drawn by endless possibilities of taking an idea, a blank space and turning it into something with integrity, function and aesthetics to influence how one feels within it. However, I still felt a deeper calling; one to make a more positive physical impact on people’s lives. Always having an interest in the human body, how we MOVE, the delicate balance of pulleys and levers in the body and what can limit or increase activity, a new career was born. In 2005, I graduated from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy.

My practice embodies both of these pursuits. I use the concept of design and apply it holistically to create and hold space for clients to heal. Honoring, that our bodies’ unique architecture is rooted in the balance of form and function.

Upon graduating, I started working in a collaborative wellness center with a physical therapist, chiropractors and holistic physician. In 2007, I then began teaching massage at Cortiva Institute and worked in their professional clinic for five years, all while simultaneously growing my private practice. Over the past 17 years, I have had extensive experience working in athletic facilities, chiropractic clinics and luxury spas. The diversity of these environments and clientele has greatly enhanced my repertoire of techniques and skills, making my approach to the body more client specific and adaptable. My style can be described as integrative, intuitive, rehabilitative and restorative. I continually draw upon my training in myofascial, clinical and neuromuscular techniques to provide relief from pain, sports injuries and everyday life. I love to discover the sources of discomfort by listening to the structural and kinetic lines of energy to create relief and balance in the body. I also firmly believe that educating and empowering the client is a potent method for healing. How we move in space is just as critical as the space we occupy and use. The structure and function of the body is equally as fascinating as the self-healing mechanisms within. Massage Therapy is an avenue to promote healing. I strive to live an active lifestyle, cycling, cross-country skiing and uphold the philosophy that movement is the key to life.
